Larson International, Inc. introduces the new award winning ride STAR DANCER. The International and Independent Showmen's Foundation awarded Star Dancer the "Best of Show" award. This thrilling new family ride is for all ages, from the young to the young at heart.

 

Star Dancer combines the carousel and gondola wheel in this family ride. New words, such as Gondosel or Carodola, might better describe the action of the ride. Operating on a fully automatic cycle, Star Dancer's unique telescoping outer tower quietly begins to rise, with the carousel ring rising on the tower at twice the speed of the tower. The carousel begins to rotate, continuing up the tower until reaching its maximum height, where the ring continues to rotate. While at the top, passengers have an unobstructed, panoramic view of your park or midway. Star Dancer's unique quietness makes it a good neighbor in any environment.

 

Star Dancer has a capacity of 48 to 60 persons per load and offers one-stop loading.

Star Dancer is illuminated with more than 3500 computer controlled Turbo-Lites which encircle the outer tower and sweeps. Star Dancer is available in two sizes of park models to meet your particular needs.

 

Safety Features

  1. The operator's controls are color coded green and red for operations. It is equipped with an emergency stop button, an automatic ride cycle button, and up and down buttons.
  2. The large hydraulic cylinder which raises the outer tower up and down is equipped with a rupture valve. In the event of a hydraulic line failure, the rupture valve will automatically lower the tower.
  3. The gondola doors are spring loaded, can only open inward and have an manual lock on the exterior of the gondola.

Drive Systems

The lift consists of a 96 HP motor and hydraulic pump, submerged in the oil tank for quietness. This provides power for the tower/power ring to go up and down. Two 1 HP motors provide rotational movement of the power ring.
